Flying After Diving: Know the Risks…Flying 🛫 after diving 🤿 poses a risk of decompression sickness 🤕, also known as “the bends,” due to the residual nitrogen absorbed into the body’s tissues during the dive. When diving🤿, the body absorbs nitrogen from the compressed air breathed underwater. The deeper and longer the dive, the more nitrogen is absorbed into the bloodstream and tissues.Flying ✈️ involves a rapid change in altitude, which leads to a decrease in atmospheric pressure. This decrease in pressure can cause the nitrogen bubbles formed during diving to expand, potentially resulting in decompression sickness. To mitigate this risk, wait a specified period after diving before flying, typically 12 to 24 hours depending on dive duration and depth, to allow excess nitrogen to off-gas safely. It’s important to follow these guidelines to ensure diver safety 🌊🛫🛬Like and follow for more aviation facts every day!#AviationFacts #aviation #aviationhistory #FlightFacts

Why shouldn’t you take a breath from scuba while freediving?Lung overexpansion injury is primarily an issue for scuba divers. Scuba divers’ lungs are at full volume at depth. The air in them expands as they ascend. This isn’t a problem if they breathe normally. But, if they were to hold their breath and/or ascend very rapidly, expanding air can rupture the lungs, causing very serious, life-threatening injuriesmore https://lnkd.in/dbfabb6A...#freediving #paditv #aqabafreedivers #jordan #redsea #apnea #freedivingcourses

Today, I am fortunate enough to be attending the United Nations World Oceans Day. What is out of sight should not be out of mind. Marine biology, oceanography, marine science – fields still relatively new in the world of academia. In today's age of endless information, there's a ocean-wide disconnect between humans and nature due to technology. We can showcase the beauty and the devastation, but how do we close the gap?Connecting with the ocean through activities like sailing, scuba diving, surfing, or fishing can spark a desire to protect what we love. [Eco] tourism has made waves, bringing people to experience the ends of out planet firsthand. It's crucial to equip the next generation with knowledge and skills to safeguard our oceans. Water is wet, salt corrodes, pressure exists underwater, and you can't have nautical without knots. The oldest trades on the planet will give us the skills to protect and propell us into the future. Let's empower the youth to become stewards of our precious oceans! #MarineTrades #BlueEconomy #BoatCaptain #MaritimeServices #BlueEconomyWorkforceDevelopment #OceanConservation #NextGeneration #ProtectOurOceans #OceanStewards #ProtectWhatYouLove #MakeWaves #AwakenNewDepths #UnitedNations The Explorers Club #NewEnglandChapterOfTheExplorersClub

At O2 GROUP FOR MARINE AND DIVING SERVICES, we understand that the heart of a ship's performance lies beneath the waterline. As experts in commercial diving, we believe in the transformative power of underwater cleaning for ships. Here's why it matters:✨ Performance Optimization: Over time, marine growth and fouling can accumulate on a ship's hull, propellers, and other submerged components, leading to increased drag and reduced fuel efficiency. Underwater cleaning is the key to restoring optimal performance and ensuring smooth sailing.🌐 Environmental Impact: Regular underwater cleaning not only benefits ship performance but also contributes to environmental sustainability. By preventing the spread of invasive species through biofouling, we play a part in preserving our marine ecosystems.💪 Preventing Corrosion: Marine environments are harsh, and corrosion is a constant threat. Our underwater cleaning services not only remove fouling but also help identify and address potential corrosion issues early on, extending the lifespan of your vessel.🌊 Comprehensive Solutions: From hull cleaning to propeller polishing, our services cover the spectrum of underwater maintenance needs. Trust O2 GROUP FOR MARINE AND DIVING SERVICES for tailored solutions that keep your fleet in top condition.Ready to enhance the performance and longevity of your maritime assets?
